We are a non-profit, scientific, professional society dedicated to promote excellence and competence in the field of biotechnology for the benefit of mankind.

Welcome to BRSI

The aim of the Biotech Research Society of India [BRSI] is to promote the R&D in biotechnology, bring interaction between the academic institutes and biotech industries, interact with the industries and help them in resolving their problems as well make them aware with the new developments in the biotech sector, provide and arrange training in biotechnology, dissemination of biotech knowledge through the organization of lectures, seminars and symposia on scientific programmes and societal missions.

Call for BRSI Annual Awards Nominations for 2024 and Fellows for 2025

Nominations are invited for the following BRSI Annual Awards and election of Fellows: Life-Time Achievement Award: Members of BRSI above the age of 60 years as on 31st December 2024 involved in Biotech R&D for lifetime contribution to the field of Biotechnology would be eligible. Award carries certificate, citation and Rs 50,000 cash.Young Scientist Award: Members

Governing Body

BRSI is managed at two levels - the supreme body, known as Board of Governors of the BRSI and a second layer of governance through the Management Council. Elections are held to appoint members to these two councils for a tenure of two years.

Membership

LIFE MEMBER: Any person with above qualification can opt for the Life membership of the Society. Life membership is valid till the age of 75 years.
Fees: Rs. 7000 as one-time payment
ORDINARY MEMBER: Any persons possessing Master’s degree in Science in Biological, or Life Sciences, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Biotechnology or Biochemical Engineering can apply for the membership of the Society. Those working in the area of biotech research and business, but not possessing the aforesaid qualifications can also apply for the membership.

Members of BRSI above the age of 55 years a55 years involved in Biotech R&D for his/her life time contribution to the field of Biotechnology is eligible for this award.
