The aim of the Biotech Research Society of India [BRSI] is to promote the R&D in biotechnology, bring interaction between the academic institutes and biotech industries, interact with the industries and help them in resolving their problems as well make them aware with the new developments in the biotech sector, provide and arrange training in biotechnology, dissemination of biotech knowledge through the organization of lectures, seminars and symposia on scientific programmes and societal missions.

Read MoreBRSI is managed at two levels - the supreme body, known as Board of Governors of the BRSI and a second layer of governance through the Management Council. Elections are held to appoint members to these two councils for a tenure of two years.
Members of BRSI of 35 years or below as on 31st December of award year involved in Biotech R&D for his/her outstanding contributions would be eligible.
Women members of BRSI below the age of 45 years as on 31st December of award year involved in Biotech R&D for her outstanding contributions would be eligible for this award.
The XXIII Convention of the Society will be held as International Conference on Innovations in Biotechnology for Sustainable Developments (IBSD-2026) during October 22-25, 2026 at National Institute of Technology, Puducherry.
The XXII Convention of the Society will be held as International Conference on Advances in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, and Structural Biology (ICABSB-2025) during December 11-14, 2025 at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
